Salman Khan and Jacqueline Fernandez are all set to recreate
the magic with Kick 2 and Sajid Nadiadwala, will be helming the sequel to his
popular blockbuster, Kick. Earlier, reports were abuzz that the sequel of 2014
action thriller flick is expected to go on floors in 2020. While we wait for
the makers to make an official announcement about the leading cast of the film,
a latest Mumbai Mirror report divulges the deets of Salman and Jacqueline’s
characters in the sequel. Reportedly, Salman’s character of Devil will be
continued and Jacqueline will once again romance the Devi Lal Singh.
Confirming the same, a source close to the development told to Mumbai Mirror “Salman’s character, Devil (Devi Lal Singh), will be carried forward with Jackie as his love interest." The source further added, “Kick was merely a glimpse into the world of Devil and the sequel will explore other facets of his character. It’s a role with surprises in plenty which is what makes it unique. It has shades of grey, mixed with larger-than-life heroism and a dash of humour.”
The source further said, “Sajid wants to take the film a notch higher in every aspect. He has ambitious plans for the franchise which he has discussed with Salman. They plan to roll with the film in 2020.”
Speaking about Kick 2, Saijd Nadiadwala had last
year told Mirror, “Once I finish penning the script, I’ll be completely sure.
But at present, she’s there in what I’m writing. But it’s too early to talk
about it. We had already decided that there would be a sequel. I’ve been
writing it for a year now. As I had a lot of other things on my plate, it was
taking time. I’ll restart the writing process. We should be ready to roll the
movie next year, after Salman finishes all his current films. Kick 2 will
release on Christmas 2019.”
