Katrina Kaif was busy gearing up for the release of her film Sooryavanshi until it was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, Katrina has been under self-isolation and is making the most out of her time at home. On the other hand, after wrapping up Rohit Shetty’s cop-drama, the actress has something interesting coming up with Super 30 director Vikas Bahl. Reportedly, Katrina is all set to star in a slice-of-life comedy film with Amitabh Bachchan in the lead.  

According to reports in Mumbai Mirror, Amitabh Bachchan will be seen playing Katrina Kaif’s father in the upcoming flick. A source close to the development, the film is tentatively titled Deadly and is centered around a funeral. The source revealed that Vikas and Katrina have discussed the central character with Big B who has also shown a keen interest in doing the film. The source said, “Vikas and Katrina have discussed the central character of the father with Amitabh Bachchan who has shown a keen interest in doing the film. However, he is yet to sign on the dotted line.”

The source added that the trio met a couple of times in February and the formalities were to be closed in March, but due to the virtual shut down of the industry currently, there is a delay in casting and production.  The reports state that the film was supposed to kick off in May, but following the situation across the world due to Coronavirus, the makers are waiting for things to settle down before heading for a recce. Talking about the film,  a source revealed, "Katrina loved the basic premise, which essentially traces the protagonist’s journey of self-discovery with humourous undertones, and gave an instant go-ahead to Vikas.”



Meanwhile, as per the source, Katrina will be undergoing several rounds of reading to understand the intricacies of her multi-layered character. Work-wise, after Deadly, Katrina will star in a supernatural comedy opposite Ishaan Khatter and Ananya Panday, titled Phone Bhoot and will also have the third instalment of Tiger franchise with Salman Khan.
