Karishma Ka Karishma Fame Jhanak Shukla Opens Up About Quitting Acting: Don’t Want To Be A Full-Time Actor
Jhanak Shukla stole the hearts of the audience with her adorable acting chops in the television show Karishma Ka Karishma and movie Kal Ho Naa Ho. While the actress has been missing from the limelight for quite sometime, she made it to the headlines recently after she announced her engagement to Swapnil Suryawanshi, an engineer. During an interaction with ETimes, the actress revealed why she quit acting.

The 26-year-old revealed that she never quit acting intentionally. Her parents wanted her to focus on her studies before she could take-up acting as a full-time job. Talking about how she eventually lost interest, Jhanak said, “I didn’t quit acting intentionally, it happened on its own. I was a child artiste, but after a point my parents told me that I should also focus on my studies and pursue acting post graduation if I wanted to. So, I immersed myself in my studies and by the time I completed my graduation, I wasn’t interested.”

Jhanak goes on to reveal how she wants to study further. After pursuing archeology, she did her MBA during the pandemic and she will be moving to Ireland to purse masters in marketing. She went on to reveal that she doesn’t want to be a full-time actor but if she is offered an interesting role, she might take it up. She said, “In the future if I am offered a really good character in a web show, I may take it up. I don’t want to stop myself from doing anything that interests me. But I don’t want to be a full-time actor.”

For the unversed, Jhanak is the daughter of actress Supriya Sukhla, known for playing the mother of Pragya in Kumkum Bhagya and Preeta in Kundali Bhagya. Further in the interview, Jhanak also spoke about her plans of getting married. She said, “We will tie the knot in 2024. I am going to Ireland for a year for my further studies, which is why we got engaged now.”
