Karan Johar While Crossing The Bandra-Worli Sea Link: One Side Is The Nepotistic Gang, Other Side Has Single Achievers
Karan Johar faced brutal wrath when Kangana Ranaut sparked the 'Nepotism' debate. He has been tagged as 'the flag bearer of nepotism' as he is responsible for launching some star kids in Bollywood. However, this topic was sparked again at a recent event. Well, during the launch of Shunali Khullar Shroff's book, Love In The Time Of Affluenza -01, KJo shared some of his insights on nepotism, some of the achievers and parenting.

He said, "When I crossed the sea link, I saw two spectrums, one of the nepotistic gang enjoying their parental world and status and then there were single achievers who had moved into from elsewhere and other cities and trying to get on their own. And now the Bombay that I know is full of those people which I am very happy about and I am always surrounded by a lot of achieving millennials, guys and girls who really want to make it themselves, there is ambition but on their terms and that's what I really like about them.

Further added, "But there's a difference between them because sometimes your ambition has no gap. You could do anything for your ambition but that's not the case with this generation, because their ambition has a boundary. They want to have a good life and they balance ambition and fun. The city is also doing the same thing, balancing ambition but also having lots of fun. When we grew up, the pressures were much higher for some reason, I think because our parents from that generation gave us that pressure and now the younger parents are so not pressurising because they don't want to be like their parents, things have changed and I can see the generation shift."

Meanwhile, filmmaker Karan Johar attended the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne press conference and during the film festival, KJo hoisted the National flag in Melbourne, a few days prior to India's Independence Day. The Indian Flag was hoisted like every year and the honour was given to Karan Johar.

During the film festival, he was asked what if he were to remake the film now, who would play Rahul, Anjali, and Tina. Without an ounce of doubt, he said, “On my wishlist would be Ranveer Singh as Rahul. He has that mad intensity as Shah Rukh Khan. Alia Bhatt as Anjali. She has the spunk and Janhvi Kapoor as Tina because she has the poise and balance of the part.”
