Karan Johar is back yet another season of his popular talk show, Koffee With Karan, however, there’s a minor twist this time. Apart from the celebs graing the couch, the host himself will be seen spilling some hot beans about his life. In the very first episode, KJo confessed to Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh of going through a bout of depression.

During the episode, KJo was seen lauding Deepika Padukone for being vocal about her mental health issues and revealed that he too was going through a low phase and he understood that it only recently when he suffered a breakdown at a public event. Elaborating about the mental breakdown during the launch event of Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC), which was held in April this year. The filmmaker stated that he was all decked up when he arrived at the venue and was mingling with people, but it was then that he suffered an anxiety attack and Varun Dhawan was the first one to notice it.

KJo shared that he was all decked up when he arrived at the venue and interacted with people. But, it was at that exact moment he suffered an anxiety attack and Varun Dhawan was the first one to notice it. 

The filmmaker shared that Varun took him to an empty room and asked him if he was okay and pointed out that he was sweating profusely. 

"My hands were shaking. I did some breathing exercises and I was confused if it was a cardiac arrest or what. I got out of my long and elaborate jacket and I left in half an hour. I just went to my bed and I wept. I just cried and I didn't know why I was crying," KJo shared, while getting emotional.

Koffee With Karan 8 premiered on Thursday and the first ones to grace the couch in the new season were none other than Bollywood power couple Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh.
