Karan Johar Is Set To Do Something He Has Never Done Before
There is little that Karan Johar directorials have not showcased. However, the filmmaker is all set to surprise you. Read on...
Looks like Karan Johar is in the mood of experimenting. As per reports, the filmmaker is all set to venture into comedy space with the sequel of Bombay Talkies. The film will be based on the theme of love and lust.
A source told a tabloid, “It will be an out-and-out comedy. Karan has never tried his hand at this genre, but, with Bombay Talkies, he unleashes his creative side. The story will revolve around a small-town couple, thus, breaking away from the grandeur and elite people synonymous with his films."
The report
further states that Vicky Kaushal has been roped in as the lead actor for the
film. “Karan approached him after he saw a few rushes of Meghna Gulzar's Raazi.
Vicky has given a screen test for his part. The final paperwork will take place
next week,” added the source.
Parineeti Chopra was initially finalised as the female lead for the film but as of now, she is tied up with Dibakar Banerjee’s Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar and might have issues with dates.
Earlier Karan Johar had also confirmed that Parineeti Chopra will not be a part of Bombay Talkies.
The film will go on floors in the third week of December and will be produced by Ashi Dua, and presented by Ronnie Screwvala.
The first instalment of the film was made in 2013 and comprised four short films, directed by Anurag Kashyap, Dibakar Banerjee, Zoya Akhtar and Karan Johar. The film was made to mark 100 years of Indian cinema. The film starred Amitabh Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, Randeep Hooda, Saqib Saleem and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the lead roles.
