Karan Johar Gets UPSET As Comedian Mimics Him In ‘Exceptionally Poor Taste’; Kettan Singh Apologises To The Filmmaker
Kettan Singh apologised to Karan Johar after the filmmaker bashed the comedian for poorly mimicking him in a comedy show
Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar has made a name for himself in the Hindi entertainment industry with his quirky dressing sense and movie-making skills. The proud ‘flag bearer of Bollywood’ was left upset on Sunday night after he watched glimpses of a promo belonging to a comedy show. He immediately took to his Instagram stories to slam a comedian for poorly mimicking him on his celebrity chat show Koffee With Karan. As netizens started to speculate if Johar was talking about Madness Machaenge and Kettan Singh, the comedian apologised to the Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani director.
In an interview with Times Now News, Kettan expressed that his intention was to never hurt Karan. He went on to express that he is a fan of the 51-year-old filmmaker’s work and he did the impersonation after watching his chat show. Singh added that he has even watched the Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt starrer more than 5 times. He added, “I am a huge fan of his work and his show. If my actions hurt him, I would like to apologise to him. My intention was not to hurt him. The comedian further stated, “I would like to see the reactions of people and Karan sir after watching the episode. I don't want to offend, sir. Many artists don't mimic Karan sir. I used to do it a couple of years ago on The Kapil Sharma Show. I did it for the first time on Madness Machayenge. Well, Karan’s post did not go down well with the netizens as many criticised him for hosting a chat show that often makes fun of celebrities and mocks the ones who make a name for themselves without the help of a godfather. A part of the the note read, “I expect this from trolls and faceless and nameless people but when your own industry can disrespect someone who has been in the business for over 25 years it speaks volumes about the times we live in... this doesn't even anger me it just makes me sad!”
On the work front, Karan Johar made his directorial comeback with Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt starrer Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. The movie was celebrated by the critics as well as the audiences for its on-point casting, songs, and the necessary topics it addressed. He is yet to announce his next directorial project.
