Karan Johar Breaks His Silence On Hardik Pandya-KL Rahul Controversy, 'I Haven't Slept Many Nights, Feel Very Responsible'
What started off as a joke, soon escalated into something much bigger and troublesome for cricketers Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul. Now, Karan Johar has opened up on the entire situation and he seems highly apologetic
Ever since Indian cricketers Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul made an appearance on the popular talk show, Koffee With Karan, they have been in severe trouble. Hardik’s sexist comments received a lot of flak on social media, and the duo was even suspended by the BCCI from playing the series in Australia. Things went out of control and even Pandya’s gym membership with Khar gymkhana was called off.
While all this happened, the host of the show Karan Johar was mum all this while. Now finally, in an interview with ET Now, he has spoken up on the entire situation. He says, “I have to say that I feel very responsible because it was my show, it was my platform. I invited them as guests and so the ramifications and repercussion of the show are my responsibility. I have had so many so many sleepless nights just wondering about how I can undo this damage, who is gonna listen to me. It's now gone into a zone which is beyond my control.”
He added, "I have to say and I don't defend myself when I say this. I have to say that the questions that I asked the two boys are the questions I ask everyone including women. Deepika (Padukone) and Alia (Bhatt) were on the show, I asked them those questions. I have no control about the answers that come my way."
What do we say now, because the damage has been done.
