Kangana Ranaut Will Share Director Credit With Krish For Manikarnika: Queen Of Jhansi
After letting go of the director’s credit in the teaser, Kangana Ranaut has finally agreed to share the acknowledgement for direction in Manikarnika: Queen Of Jhansi. This project will mark the actress’ debut into the world of direction. An insider told mid-day, "Kangana helmed the 45-day schedule that included the re-shoot of several key parts of the drama. Not just that, after she returned from the US earlier this week, she was thoroughly involved in the editing process along with Rameshwar Bhagat. She is overseeing the VFX work, the music and the final cut as well, all of which are the director's responsibilities. Kangana also cut short the first schedule of Panga to accommodate the post-production of Manikarnika."

It was earlier said that Kangana took over as director after Krish had initially helmed the film since the makers felt that a number of key points were missing from the original one. Producer Kamal Jain told mid-day, "The film is finally looking exactly the way we had envisioned it. Kangana is a perfectionist who headlined every department. We are happy with what she has done and it would be unfair to not give her credit where it's due."

When asked if Krish is in the know, Jain further said, “I wouldn't want to comment on that. We are a team. I don't see why anyone should have a problem with this. If someone has worked hard, they should be acknowledged." You may recall, in August, a clapboard featuring Kangana’s name as director of Manikarnika did the rounds of social media but her representatives had stated that the step was taken to ‘avoid confusion’ while shooting. Manikarnika: Queen Of Jhansi is based on Rani Laxmibai’s life and will hit theatres on January 25.
