Following Akshay Kumar’s Bell Bottom, Kangana Ranaut’s next movie, Thalaivii is set to release on September 10, 2021. Though the actress is elated about her movie’s Tamil and Telugu version finally releasing in theatres, she is upset that the Hindi version will have only got a 2-weeks screening window. Actress taking to her INSTA Stories has requested the government of Maharashtra to open the cinemas in the state. In her INSTA Stories, she stated that now that COVID-19 cases have dropped down, the state govt. should let the movie release in theatres.

The actress wrote, “Cases in Maharashtra have decline. Requesting Maharashtra Government to #OpenUpCinemas in Maharashtra and save the dying film industry and theatres business,” followed by folded hands emoji. Directed by AL Vijay, Thalaivii marks her second biopic based on an iconic figure. Earlier the actress played Rani Laxmi Bai in Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. In the upcoming movie, she will be getting to life former Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa.  The movie will showcase the journey of the actress turning into a politician.
