Kangana Ranaut Thinks Rani Mukerji’s Performance In Black Was “No Big Deal”
Kangana Ranaut reveals after watching Rani Mukerji’s performance in Black, she thought it was no big deal and it gave her confidence to enter the industry
Kangana Ranaut is known for being vocal. And when she’s not doing the talking, her performance in films like Queen and Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi speaks for her. From calling out celebrities in the industry for not supporting her films to opening a can of worms about her ex, Kangana has no filter. Without mincing her words the actress openly declares war on other actors whenever needed.
Kangana made her Bollywood debut with Anurag Basu's 2006 film Gangster. But do you know that it was Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Black that gave her the confidence to enter Bollywood? Talking about it, Kangana told a daily, "I remember going for Black. At that time, people around me from theatre were suggesting I do films, which I thought would be difficult. I went with my roommate and told me if we could act like that, we could also become like them. And I said, 'I can do this. What's the big deal?' She was like, 'Oh my god, look at you?'"
"I said in theatre, we do this in one go. Here, you have to do it in segments; and if you mess up, you can do it again! I went back to my hostel, tried to enact [Rani Mukerji's character] before the mirror. And I knew I can definitely do this. That day, I found the confidence," the actress added.
The actress accepted that theatre gave her the push she needed. "When I did theatre with Arvind Gaur, he opened me up and gave me confidence that I am good at this," said Kangana.
