Kangana Ranaut Speaks About Queen Director Vikas Bahl Sexual Harassment Scandal
She is not one to shy away from a controversial topic and Kangana Ranaut did not flinch when she was asked about the sex scandal at Phantom Films
It is the topic du jour in Bollywood but not many celebrities have spoken about the ouster of Vikas Bahl from Phantom Films over allegations of sexual harassment.
She was at an event to promote a clothing line when Kangana was asked about the scandal. Interestingly, Vikas’s directorial Queen was the turning point in Kangana’s career.

“It is a very serious issue and I can only say whoever faces a situation like this, it is really courageous of a woman to come out and speak about it. I am not the party involved in this but generally speaking, women who are facing this situation at work should be encouraged to talk about it, by their family, by their environment, their colleagues and they should not be shamed. We need more and more women to come out and talk about it. There may be another side to the story and there will be authorities who will decide what is right. But people should speak up. They may be right or wrong but they should speak up because that is how awareness will be created about this issue,” said Kangana emphatically.
The actress also spoke about the other hot debate in town, nepotism in Bollywood.
“I speak about my journey so that others who follow know where I fell, where I flew. Someone should not be stopped just because they do not speak English or because they have sweat patches as they travelled in an auto to get to an audition or because they share an apartment with 10 people in an uncool part of town. Now when people go for an audition they say, ‘Humein English nahi aati, hum Hindi mein bolenge’. And it’s cool and it’s cool because of people like me,” said Kangana.
