Kangana Ranaut Reacts To India Being Renamed As Bharat Speculation; Actress Says, ‘Congratulations, Freed From A Slave Name’
Filmmaker and actress Kangana Ranaut is one of the few celebrities from the entertainment industry, who has been vocal about her thoughts, ideologies and political leaning on social media. She has never shied away from expressing her opinions, which is admired by netizens a lot. Hours after an official Presidential invite for the G20 dinner mentioned Droupadi Murmu as the President of Bharat instead of India, Kangana took to her official handle to celebrate the name change speculation. 

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, she re-shared a netizen’s tweet, who had posted a screenshot of an old interview where she had called for the change in India’s name. Resharing the tweet that hailed her for being ahead of time, she congratulated everyone as the country will be ‘freed from a slave name’. In another tweet, she quote-tweeted another netizen who spoke about loving India as much as Bharat and Hindustan. A part of her tweet reads, “From the time of Mahabharata, all the kingdoms who participated in the Great War of Kurukshetra came under one continent called Bharat so why were they calling us Indu Sindu?? Also the name Bharat is so meaningful, what is the meaning of India? On the work front, Kangana Ranaut will be next seen in Emergency. Not only is the movie her first solo directorial, but she will also be essaying the role of India’s late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
