Kangana Ranaut, Rangoli Chandel Directed To Appear Before Mumbai Police On January 8 By Bombay HC; Sisters Granted Interim Protection By Court
Kangana Ranaut along with sister Rangoli Chandel have been asked to appear before Mumbai Police on January 8. The Ranaut sisters have come under the radar for allegedly spreading communal hatred. An FIR was filed against Kangana and Rangoli on Mumbai’s magistrate court’s order. The court had directed Mumbai police to carry out an inquiry against them for making objectionable comments in their tweets on social media. However later, the actress had moved to HC to quash the FIR against them by the Mumbai Police.

Now Bombay High Court has asked Kangana and her sister to appear before Mumbai Police on January 8. Not only that, the court has also granted interim protection to Kangana and her sister Rangoli from arrest. ANI Tweeted, “Bombay High Court to hear Kangana Ranaut's plea against an FIR lodged at Mumbai's Bandra Police Station on allegations of a complainant that she tried to create a divide between communities with her social media posts. #Maharashtra.”

Another tweet read, "Bombay High Court directs actor Kangana Ranaut and her sister Rangoli Chandel to appear before the police on January 8; asks the police not to take any action against them till then."


Kangana Ranaut also lauded Justice Shinde for calling out Mumbai Police for invoking the wrong sections. She thanked Justice Shinde in her latest tweet. Till now, Mumbai Police have summoned the Rananut sister thrice in the sedition case. Advocate Rizwan Siddiquee informed that the Ranaut sisters have filed a petition, demanding to quash the FIR. He said, “Kangana and Rangoli have filed a petition in the Bombay High Court for quashing of the FIR and the magistrate's order."
