Kangana Ranaut On Jayalalithaa Biopic: After Manikarnika I Find Everything Easy - EXCLUSIVE
Kangana Ranaut has always been in news. If not for her path-breaking films, it is for her altercations or controversies that end-up surrounding her. Riding high on the critically acclaimed Judgmentall Hai Kya, Kangana has moved on to her next Thalaivi, a biopic based on the life of the glorious and prominent Indian politician J Jayalalithaa. Ranaut in the recent past ahs been snapped almost every day trying to get rid of her two left feet (confessed bad dancer) and learning Indian classical dance, Bharatnatyam for her portrayal of Jayalalithaa.

SO when we met up the 3-time national film award winner recently crusading for Cauvery Calling Campaign, we also ended up asking her about how her prep for the Jayalalithaa biopic is shaping up? The actress laughed off and cheekily thanked me for reminding her how she is not a great dancer but went on to say that she now realises that Bharatnatyam is a very difficult dance form.

Talking about her experience of learning the dance form, Kangana said, "Thank you so much for reminding me that I am not a great dancer (Laughs). Bharatnatyam is difficult! the entire dance happens in a squat position. I feel it is very challenging for me but like I said it isn't more difficult than sword fight and riding horses and getting injured and beating 10 people and flying over the shoulders. After Manikarnika, I find everything easy"

She also revealed as to the schedule of the film shoot and how she is prepping to look the part. Ranaut added, "The film will go on floor in October and we will shoot till the end of January. I never mix two films unless it is a situation and then go into another. Dhaakad training and body type needed is different. even Jaya is different. The film is based on her younger days till she becomes a chief minister for the first time. She was also a voluptuous woman with a round face. We are trying to get prosthetics,"

Does this mean that the actress will be putting on weight for the first time for a role? Well, Kangana cleared the air and said, "Jayalalithaa had a dancers body and we are planning to achieve that body. In her youthful days, she had a very tiny waist. We will try and achieve that through pads and prosthetics. Some technicians are coming from the US and we are going through some kind of trials in coming weeks and then we will make the final call but I think this is the first character where I will be going through a huge transformation. I think Datto had just teeth and hair but it wasn't that drastic where I had to resemble an individual"
