After essaying the role of former Tamil Nadu chief minister, Jayalalithaa in the upcoming biopic, Thalaivi, actor Kangana Ranaut is all set to portray another strong female politician, former Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi. She earlier stated that it is not going to be an out-and-out biopic but would cover important moments in Indian political history. As the pre-production work has started, this time, Kangana took to her Instagram stories to give a little glimpse of her prep. The actor shared that she scanned her body for ‘film Emergency’ in order to ‘get into the skin of Indira Gandhi’
Kangana Ranaut teases fans with work video at her production house office Manikarnika films. In one video, we see Kangana getting her hand scanned while in another video, we see her showing the glimpse of the ‘body scan’ process which she captioned with, “Body scan for film Emergency, time to get into Madam Prime Minister Indira Gandhi ji's skin” Earlier, The Hindu carried Kangana’s statement where she talks about her next film. “Yes, we are working on the project, and the script is in the final stages. It is not the biopic of Indira Gandhi. It is a grand period film. To be precise, it is a political drama that will help my generation to understand (the) socio-political landscape of current India,” the actor said.
She also mentioned that ‘the film is based on a book’ and the likes of Rajiv Gandhi, Sanjay Gandhi, Lal Bahadur Shastri among others will also be seen in the movie. Kangana further said, “Many prominent actors will be part of this film and of course I am looking forward to playing the most iconic leader that we have had in the history of Indian politics.”
