Kangana Ranaut BLASTS Congress Leader Randeep Surjewala’s Derogatory Comment On Hema Malini; Former Question, ‘What Kind Of Life Do They Want Women To Live’
Filmmaker-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut left the internet with mixed reactions when she revealed that she has joined the political party Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Having established herself as one of the most versatile actresses in the Hindi film industry, she has been taking to her official social media handles to share glimpses of her journey. On Wednesday, she took X to slam Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala for passing a derogatory remark against veteran actress and BJP MP Hema Malini.

Sharing a video, where Surjewala is seen taking a dig at the BJP MP, Kangana lashed out at him for passing a ‘derogatory and misogynistic’ remark. He was heard saying in Hindi, “Why do people elect their MLAs/MPs? So that they (MLAs/MPs) can raise the public's voice. It's not like Hema Malini, who was elected to lick.” Amid demands by the netizen that the Congress leader apologise, the Tejas actor reacted to his sexist remark. Taking to her official X handle, the 37-year-old expressed her anger in Hindi. Quoted by the Free Press Journal, she shared how Congress leaders often deteriorate the character of women due to their degraded views about them. She wrote, “There was talk of opening a shop of love but Congress has opened a shop of hatred. Congress leaders, who have degraded views towards women, are deteriorating their character day by day in frustration and despair of inevitable defeat.” ALSO READ: Bigg Boss 18 Vs Lock Upp 2: Salman Khan And Kangana Ranaut’s Reality Shows Might Premiere At The Same Time? Extending her support to the Sholay actress, Ranaut also said, “If they see a young woman, they comment on her body parts. And a 75-year-old senior woman, who is a classical Bharatanatyam dancer, is called Nachaniya or dancer... They don't even leave an elderly woman, what kind of life do they want women to live in. It would be better if they dig their own graves and bury themselves in it.”

Reacting to Surjewala’s derogatory, on Thursday, Hema Malini expressed that the opposition party should learn how to respect women from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. FPJ quoted her saying, “They target only popular people because targeting the unpopular ones won't do them any good... They should learn how to respect women from PM Narendra Modi.” It was after the backlash that Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala issued a clarification and stated that he never intended to insult or hurt the veteran actress.
