Kalpana Lajmi Rushed To Hospital For Kidney Failure; Aamir Khan & Rohit Shetty Pay Bills
Legendary director Kalpana Lajmi was taken to the hospital earlier TODAY in a serious condition. She has been admitted to the ICU of a suburban Mumbai hospital and many popular names in Bollywood are coming forward to help her monetarily
This morning, 61-year-old filmmaker, Kalpana Lajmi, who
has been battling kidney failure for 3 years, was rushed to a suburban
hospital as her condition became serious.
Kalpana’s mother Lalita Lajmi confirmed the news and said that the filmmaker is
critical and has been admitted in the ICU this morning. She also said that her
daughter has been going for dialysis four times a week as her kidneys aren't
functional - one kidney was operated on and the second one is also affected.
Not just this, her medical bills are being shared by many
bigwigs in the film industry.
According to filmmaker Ashoke Pandit, all the medical
expenses incurred by Kalpana Lajmi have been taken care of by the Indian Films
and Television Directors Association, Aamir Khan and Rohit Shetty. He had taken
to twitter to thank them Aamir and Rohit as well.

Kalpana has bern the director behind films like Ek
Pal (1986), Rudaali (1993), Darmiyaan (1997) and Daman (2001). She was
also partner to legendary singer and music composer Bhupen Hazarika for 40
years. She wanted to make a biopic on his life but that has now taken a
backseat now with her deteriorating health.
