Kabir Singh Producer Murad Khetani Beats Karan Johar For Master Rights; Pays A Whopping Amount - Report
According to the latest reports Kabir Singh producer Murad Khetani wants to remake another South blockbuster, Master. However, he beat Karan Johar and bagged the deal. Here’s how!
After the humongous success of Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani starrer Kabir Singh, producers are now eyeing to remake another South blockbuster, Master starring Vijay and Vijay Setupathi which was a smashing hit in the South. According to the latest reports in BollywoodHungama, Kabir Singh producer Murad Khetani wants to remake the film in Hindi, however, after he got to know that filmmaker Karan Johar is also aiming for the same, he quietly raised his amount and reportedly paid Rs. 6 crore for the official rights of Master.
A source tells the portal, "Karan Johar was also trying to get the rights to make Master in Hindi. He was trying really hard but when Murad got a hang of it, he quietly raised his price and bagged the deal." The same source shares that a whopping amount was quoted from Cine 1 Studios. Currently, the report further states that the team is reworking the script for the Hindi audience and casting will happen only once the scripting is done.
"Murad is keen on making several remakes in the next few years. There's Thadam, then there's Namak Halal and now, Master. He paid over Rs. 6 crore just for the rights. He had earlier paid around Rs. 4-5 crore for Arjun Reddy's official rights, but the moment he heard KJo is also at the other end, he raised his amount and got it. The team is now putting it all together and reworking the script for the Hindi audience. Casting will happen only once the scripting is done."
