JUST IN: Salman Khan To Leave For Jodhpur For Blackbuck Case
Earlier this month, we had told you that the Jodhpur District Sessions Court will announce its verdict on Salman Khan’s 19-year-old Arms Act case on January 18 (Verdict On Salman’s 1998 Arms Act Case To Be Announced On January 18, Jan 9). Now, we can tell you that Salman, along with Alvira Agnohotri and lawyer, is leaving for Jodhpur for the hearing tomorrow. He is expected to leave at 3.30 pm by a chartered flight.

We also hear that the superstar will stay at prominent Congress leader and friend Bina Kak’s plush Civil Lines residence in Jaipur.

A week later (January 25), Salman will travel to Jodhpur, yet again to record his statement in the blackbuck poaching case. Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre, Tabu and Neelam Kothari will join him.

For those who’ve come in late,  here's what happened: A case was registered against Salman under the Arms Act for alleged possession and use of arms with expired license during poaching of two blackbucks, a protected animal under the Wildlife Protection Act, at village Kankani near Jodhpur in October, 1998.

The superstar was shooting Hum Saath Saath Hain when the incident occurred. While the lower court found him guilty, he was acquitted by the High Court. Now that the case is in the Supreme Court's purview, this decision will be final i.e. Salman would either be convicted or walk free, yet again.

If convicted, the superstar could face imprisonment for seven years. However, if he manages to walk free in this Arms Act case, it will have a huge impact on the other two cases running on him. Apart from the blackbuck poaching case, Salman’s 2002 hit-and-run is pending at the apex Indian court.
