John Abraham Confirms Stepping Into Aamir Khan's Shoes For Sarfarosh 2
Rumours about Aamir Khan moving out of the Sarfarosh sequel had been doing the rounds earlier this year. A couple of days back, it was being said that John Abraham may step into Aamir's shoes for the sequel. Speaking to a leading daily, John has now confirmed that he indeed is doing the film.

John said, "John Mathew Matthan and I are co-producing the film. We are still working on the script, but, yes, it's happening with me. We plan to go on floors next year. He is probably the only director whose house I went to after seeing Sarfarosh and said, 'Man what a film'."

When asked about whether he was wary of stepping into the shoes of the mighty Aamir Khan, John said, "I'm, in fact, excited. I love Aamir Khan. It's a challenge, but it's a different character and different story, even though the ethos is the same. It's going to be very exciting."

Sarfarosh, which was based around the concept of cross-border terrorism and how and honest police officer risks his life and family to stop that, went on to win the National Film Award. Apart from Aamir, the film also boasted of a stellar cast including Sonali Bendre and Naseeruddin Shah. Let's wait and watch who from the current crop of actors step into playing their parts on-screen.

John has a flurry of releases lined up. After Parmanu went on to become a success at the box-office, he will now be seen in Satyameva Jayate, which releases on Independence Day.

John has also shot for a schedule of RAW: Romeo Akhbar Walter, which will hit theatres early next year. He will be seen in 18 different avatars in the spy thriller, which was initially offered to Sushant Singh Rajput.

John also has Batla House for next year, which is based on the cop who led the Batla House encounters, which occurred in September 2008 against Indian Mujahideen terrorists in Jamia Nagar, Delhi. "Batla House will be the most explosive film you've seen. It'll show how polarised the world is, and it's straight in its face. If [viewers] accept Batla House, it will be the most successful film," added John.
