Alia Bhatt's upcoming film Jigra is generating significant buzz, as it marks the actress's solo lead role since her critically acclaimed performance in Gangubai Kathiawadi. In this film, Bhatt will be paired with Vedang Raina for the first time. Jigra is a rescue drama centred around the deep love between siblings, and it required Bhatt to prepare extensively for her role by undergoing sports training. ALSO READ: OMG! According to recent reports, Alia underwent rigorous basketball training for the Vasan Bala-directed film. Bhatt and Bala wanted the basketball scenes to appear authentic, as the sport plays a significant role in the film's storyline. To achieve this, Alia received coaching from some of the best players in the city, spending long hours learning the intricacies of the game. ALSO READ: OMG! Her training encompassed various aspects of basketball, such as dribbling, passing, and dunking, as well as mastering the rules and basic movements. The filmmakers even brought in a special basketball coach to oversee the choreography of the game-related scenes, ensuring a genuine portrayal of the sport. Jigra is produced by Alia Bhatt's production company, Eternal Sunshine Productions, in association with Dharma Productions. The film also represents Vedang Raina's second project after The Archies. Jigra is set to be released on September 27.




In addition to Jigra, Alia Bhatt has a slew of exciting projects lined up. She will star in Love & War alongside her husband Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Additionally, she is part of the YRF spyverse action-thriller with Sharvari Wagh and has a much-anticipated role in Jee Le Zaraa, featuring Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra Jonas.
