Jaya Bachchan Condemns Kangana Ranaut's 'Gutter' Comment On The Industry; Lashes At Ravi Kishan, ‘It’s A Shame’

On the second day of the Monsoon Session in Parliament, former actress and Samajwadi Party MP Jaya Bachchan slammed Kangana Ranaut and Ravi Kishan for their 'drug’ comments about the industry.

Sushant Singh Rajput’s death and ignited a new debate in Bollywood. After nepotism, drugs cartel in industry is highly being discussed by one and all. In the recent development, the Narcotics Control Bureau arrested Rhea Chakraborty, brother Showik and drug-peddlers. After the drug angle in Sushant’s death took social media by storm, Kangana Ranaut had called industry a ‘gutter and allegedly said that 99% of the industry people were exposed to drugs. Not only her, actor and BJP MP Ravi Kishan had said, ‘drug addiction is in the film industry too.’

Now condemning their statement about the industry, Samajwadi Party MP Jaya Bachchan raised a Zero Hour notice in Rajya Sabha. On the second day of the Monsoon Session in Parliament actress-turned-politician said  it is a ‘conspiracy to defame the film industry’. As per ANI, Jaya Bachchan said in Parliament, “People in the entertainment industry are being flogged by social media. People who made their names in the industry have called it a gutter. I completely disagree. I hope that the government tells such people not to use this kind of language.”

She further added, “Just because there are some people, you can’t tarnish the image of the entire industry. I am ashamed that yesterday one of our members in Lok Sabha, who is from the film industry, spoke against it. It is a shame.”

Ravi Kishan had said, “A conspiracy is being hatched to destroy the country’s youth and our neighbouring countries are adding to it. The smuggling of drugs from Pakistan and China is being carried out every year. It is being brought via Punjab and Nepal. Drug addiction is in the film industry too. Several people have been apprehended. The NCB has been doing very good work. I urge the central government to take strict action against the culprits soon.
