Janhvi Kapoor is gearing up for her upcoming sports drama "Mr and Mrs Mahi," where she stars alongside Rajkummar Rao. During the promotion of the film, in a conversation with Mashable India, she shared a humorous anecdote about her father, Boney Kapoor, and his attempts to impress her mother, the legendary Sridevi. Janhvi recounted a particularly amusing incident from the past, revealing how Boney Kapoor once jumped out of a hotel window in an effort to woo Sridevi. She recalled, “You know Dad’s jumped out of a hotel window once when he was visiting Mom. He jumped out the window and she started laughing. Additionally, Janhvi shared how her father often reminisces about the old days every night. She mentioned, “Every night, after 10 pm, when music channels start playing old songs, Papa looks at me and says… ‘you know, your mom and me…’ It is like his favourite thing to do.” Boney Kapoor and Sridevi’s love story began when Boney wanted to cast her in the film "Mr India." Despite being married to Mona Shourie Kapoor at the time, Boney fell in love with Sridevi and their relationship ultimately led to the end of his marriage. Boney and Sridevi were together for almost 22 years until her untimely death in 2018.
Janhvi’s upcoming film "Mr & Mrs Mahi" tells the story of Mahendra, a failed cricketer, and Mahima, a doctor, who come together through an arranged marriage. The film is directed by Sharan Sharma and produced by Zee Studios and Dharma Productions. It is set to be released on May 31.
In addition to "Mr & Mrs Mahi," Janhvi has other exciting projects lined up. She will appear in "Devara: Chapter 1" alongside Jr NTR and Saif Ali Khan, where she will portray the character Thangam. With a variety of roles and genres in her portfolio, Janhvi Kapoor continues to make her mark in the film industry.
