Janhvi Kapoor Recalls How Sridevi Putting Her Life In Danger To Help Boney Kapoor Quit Smoking, ‘She Said I Won't Eat Non-veg Till You Stop Smoking’

Janhvi Kapoor Recalls How Sridevi Putting Her Life In Danger To Help Boney Kapoor Quit Smoking, ‘She Said I Won't Eat Non-veg Till You Stop Smoking’
Janhvi Kapoor is one of the most loved actresses in Bollywood who is trying to prove her mettle. She is currently busy promoting her upcoming film Mili backed by her father Boney Kapoor. During the interview, the ‘Dhadak’ actress opened up about how much her later mother Sridevi loved loved her father. She even shared how Sridevi put her life at stake trying to stop Boney Kapoor from smoking.

While speaking with Pinkvilla Janhvi Kapoor said her mother and late actress turned vegetarian to stop Boney Kapoor from smoking by keeping her life in danger. She was advised by doctors to eat non-veg food as she was ‘weak’. Sridevi had put a condition before Boney if he does quit smoking she would not eat non-veg.




The Gunjan Saxena actress was quoted saying, “She became vegetarian. She said I won't eat non-veg till you stop smoking and the doctors were like no you are too weak. You need to eat more, and she was like no. And Papa would beg her. And then finally, four-five years ago, he was just like she wanted me to stop. I couldn’t do it then. I’ll do it now.”

The ‘Roohi’ actress even mentioned her and her sister Khushi Kapoor’s tactics to not let his father smoke. She mentioned that every morning they would find new ways to destroy his cigarettes. 

The ‘Good Luck Jerry’ actress asserted, “It was long ago I remember staying in our Juhu house, papa was smoking a lot. I think it was around the time of No Entry, Wanted, and every morning, me and Khushi would find new ways to destroy his cigarette packets. So, either we'd go and cut up his cigarettes or I'd open it and put toothpaste on it. Nothing worked, and Mom would also keep fighting with him.”

Talking about the film Mili is a survival thriller starring Sunny Kaushal and Manoj Pahwa in pivotal roles apart from the Janhvi. This film is an official Hindi remake of the 2019 Malayalam film, ‘Helen’. The film is slated to release on November 4, 2022, theatrically.

On the work front, the 25-year-old actress has Mr And Mrs Mahi with Rajkummar Rao and Bawaal with Varun Dhawan in her kitty.
