Janhvi Kapoor Recalls Being TROLLED For Clapping During A Tribute To Sridevi On Reality Show; Actress Says, ‘Couldn’t Breathe Anymore, I Started Howling’
Actress Janhvi Kapoor is currently gearing up for the release of her film Mr And Mrs Mahi, co-starring Rajkummar. Having made a name for herself in the Hindi film industry, she is all set to follow her late mother Sridevi’s footstep with her Telugu film debut with Jr  NTR and Saif Ali Khan starrer Devara. The actress has often opened up about her mother’s teachings and recalled their moments together. For the unversed, the legendary actress passed away at the age of 54 due to accidental drowning. This has often led to a section of the internet trolling and mocking her.

In a recent interview with Mashable India, Janhvi recalled the time she was promoting her debut film Dhadak, months after her mother’s passing. She shared how while promoting the Ishaan Khattar co-starrer on a dance reality show, the makers decided to give Sridevi a tribute, without informing her or her team. While the tribute was beautiful, she couldn’t handle it and suffered a panic attack on the sets. However, when the episode aired, they had cut off the distress the tribute had caused her and instead showed her clapping along the performance. Quoted by The Free Press Journal, the 27-year-old actress said, “I was promoting Dhadak and everything was very fresh. My team was taking care that I didn’t get reminded of my mother, but this show didn’t tell us that they were going to give a tribute to mom. So they played an audio-visual of all my mother’s songs with an emotional voice over, and these kids started dancing to pay homage. It was beautiful, but I wasn’t ready. I couldn’t breathe anymore. I started howling and crying. I ran off the stage and went to my van. Had a proper panic attack. They obviously cut all that out and instead put up another clip of me clapping and smiling, and people were like, ‘Does she really not give a f***?’ But what happened was very different.” ALSO READ: Janhvi Kapoor's Batting Stance Was 'Terrible': Mr And Mrs Mahi Director Sharan Sharma REVEALS How THIS KKR Assistant Coach Helped Her With Cricket - SEE POST

Janhvi went on to share that the netizens’ judgments, when she talks about her mother, are very weird. If she doesn’t talk about the late actress, she is dubbed “snooty,” if she is trying to be happy, “they said she wasn’t affected. It was very confusing.”

On the work front, Janhvi Kapoor was last seen in Bawaal alongside Varun Dhawan. She has Mr. & Mrs. Mahi co-starring Rajkummar Rao, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari alongside Varun Dhawan and Ulajh, co-starring Roshan Matthew and Gulshan Devaiah in her pipeline. Apart from that she is currently busy shooting for her Telugu debut in Devara alongside Jr NTR. The makers of Ram Charan’s upcoming untitled project also announced her as their leading lady.
