Now this might come in as a shock to Yash Raj Films and all Shah Rukh Khan fans. The production house had collaborated with King Khan for their last big release, Fan (2016), which bombed badly at the box-office. However, there was a court case filed by one of the fans after watching the film, the verdict of which has now finally come out.
It so happened that Afreen Zaidi, an Aurangabad resident, moved the District Consumer Forum requesting action against the makers of Fan of causing mental harassment as the hit song 'Jabra Fan' was deleted from the final cut of the movie. The court case ran for over a year and now the Aurangabad circuit bench of the Maharashtra State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission has directed YRF to pay Rs 15000 to Afreen as compensation.
Afreen had sought Rs 60,550 as compensation, including Rs 3,550 towards expenditure incurred by her on the movie tickets, snacks and auto rickshaw fare, Rs 25,000 towards mental harassment and Rs 30,000 as lawyer fees. However, the compensation granted by the court for mental harassment was set at Rs 10,000 and Rs 5,000 was cost of the complaint.
Let's wait and watch whether SRK or YRF pay up this 'Jabra Fan' without any hassles or does Afreen get to face a counter defamation case from either of these two Bollywood biggies.
