The makers of Salman Khan starrer Bharat, kick-started film’s shoot yesterday, as the that was special – it was director Ali Abbas Zafar’s birthday.

Besides the fact that it is a Salman Khan film, another angle which created a huge buzz about the film was its leading lady. When Ali Abbas Zafar had announced this film, it was speculated that Priyanka Chopra will be cast opposite Salman. But, later it was said that she has backed out of the project because of her Hollywood TV series Quantico. Amidst all of this, Katrina Kaif’s name also popped up.

That’s right! Piggy Chops, who was reading countless scripts during her last Mumbai visit, has given her nod to Ali’s Bharat.

Confirming the news, Priyanka has said, “Bharat it is! I’m looking forward to begin shooting this film and working with Salman and Ali again after a considerable time. I’ve learnt a lot from them in our previous collaborations and am excited to see what this one has to offer. I’m also looking forward to working with Alvira and Atul (Agnihotri, Salman’s sister and brother-in-law and film’s producers) and the entire team of Bharat. To all my well-wishers who’ve been so patient and supportive… thank you for your constant support and I’ll see you all at the movies.”
