Irrfan Khan’s Birth Anniversary: Wife Sutapa Sikdar Reveals Singing His Favorite Songs For Him, A Night Before He Passed Away
Sutapa Sikdar reveals on husband Irrfan Khan’s birth anniversary deets about his last night before he breathed his last
Versatile star Irrfan Khan warmed the cockle of our hearts with his performances on screen. The powerhouse actor passed away in April 2020 after his prolonged battle against cancer, leaving the industry in shock. The actor’s wife Sutapa Sikdar on his 55th birth anniversary revealed what happened the night before he passed away during her conversation with Pinkvilla. The late actor’s wife, a writer revealed singing songs a night before he breathed his last.
In her Facebook post, she made this revelation, by further giving the exact deet of the songs she sang during her conversation with Pinkvilla. She shared she and her friends, sang his favourite songs one of which was from the movie, Umrao Jaan, a ghazal and Rabindra sangeet. Sutapa said, “Jhoola kinne dala re, amraiya, jhoole mora saiyaan, loon main baliyaan… from Umrao Jaan, Lag jaa gale ke phir yeh haseen raat ho na ho (Woh Kaun Thi?), the ghazal Aaj jaane ki zid na karo… and some Rabindra sangeet.”
Though the actor was unconscious, tears rolled down his eyes shared his wife, she added, “He was unconscious but he had tears rolling down.”
On his first death anniversary, the late actor’s wife had penned a long note remembering the hard days, she had after his death. She wrote, “The days went by with umpteen responsibilities, some extremely new ones like signature galore for changing of name. My fingers kept stopping on that how could I just take his name away and make it Sutapa, I was unable to sign. Took a day off and the name game played on my mind.
