Irrfan Khan Returns To Mumbai But Hindi Medium 2 Not On His To-Do List Yet

Irrfan Khan, who has been in London past a few months, for his NeuroEndocrine tumour treatment, has returned to Mumbai. Yesterday, the Internet was abuzz with news that the talented actor will start shooting for Hindi Medium 2 on Feb 22. But T-series head honcho, Bhushan Kumar (also the co-producer of Hindi Medium and its sequel with Dinesh Vijan) has confirmed to Bombay Times that there is still time for the makers to begin the shoot, emphasising on the fact that Hindi Medium 2 will only be made with Irrfan Khan.

“Hindi Medium 2 will happen, but it will take time. It is not going on floors on February 22 as reported. The film will happen only with Irrfan. His fans and audiences need to wait a bit more. We will surely make an announcement soon.” Bhushan told Bombay Times.

The leading daily also spoke to a source close to the actor who denied the news of Irrfan being admitted to a Mumbai hospital. He clarified, “Irrfan has been given a sanction from the London hospital to shift base to Mumbai, where he can continue with his treatment. He is here now, but he hasn’t been admitted to any suburban hospital as reported. He will consult the doctors as and when required. People should stop speculating and give him some space.”

Irrfan was diagnosed with NeuroEndocrine tumour last year in March. The actor headed out to London immediately for his treatment. During this one year, Irrfan kept fans updated about his health. Irrfan's last post about his health had positive news where the actor said that after his third chemo cycle, things looked better.  He had written, “I have had the fourth cycle of chemo. And I have to have six cycles and then we need to have a scan. After the third cycle, the scan was positive. But we need to see after the sixth scan. And then we’ll see where it takes me. There’s no guarantee of life with anybody. My mind could always tell me to hang a kind of chip on your neck and say, “I have this disease and I could die in a few months or a year or two.” Or I could just avoid this conversation completely and live my life the way it offers me. And it offers so much. I admit I was walking around with blinders. I couldn’t see what it offered me.” Here’s wishing great health to Irrfan and hope to see him on big screen real quick.
