Here’s Why Anushka Sharma Was In Team India Picture At The Indian High Commission In London

Yesterday, we told you about Anushka Sharma, who was trolled for posing with Team India at the High Commission Of India in London. Social media users were angry seeing the actress in picture, while the cricketers were standing behind in the photo. Many questioned if Anushka had officially joined Team India.

Soon after BCCI posted the picture, they received flak from netizens. Now, a source close to BCCI has told Hindustan Times that no official protocol was broken as Indian High Commission had invited the team players with their families. The source said, “This is the norm wherever the team travels. The High Commission invites the players with their relatives and it is eventually the decision of the individuals. Even in London the players were invited along with their partners. There has been no breach of any protocol.”

“Anushka Sharma came to the reception for the Indian cricket team at the invitation of the high commissioner and his wife. The reception was hosted by the high Commissioner and his wife and not the High Commission. The group photo was taken as the team were entering the house. Ajinkya Rahane may have stood at the back on his own He wasn’t asked to stand there. The reception was at the high commissioner’s residence and not at the high commission,” source added.

Yesterday, Anushka was seen posing with the entire team in an official picture at the HC. The actress wore a mint colour traditional dress, and stood next to the Indian Captain along with the Team, and this didn’t go well with fans of Team India. They took to social media to ask ‘What was Anushka doing in Team India's picture?’
