Here’s what Udta Punjab director Abhishek Chaubey is doing next
Here's the latest update from the world of Bollywood. We bet you wouldn't want to miss this. Read on for details... Chaubey will be producing a biopic, which will be directed by Satish Kaushik

Abhishek Chaubey received rave reviews for his gritty drugs drama, Udta Punjab. Not just that, the Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor and Diljit Dosanjh starrer did well at the box-office too. But the director is in no hurry to go behind the camera again. For now, he is happy honing his skills as a producer.
SpotboyE.com has it that Chaubey will be co-producing Satish Kaushik’s next directorial venture, which is a biopic. And we heard this piece of news from Kaushik himself, who collaborated with Chaubey on Udta Punjab.
“I have the rights to make a biopic on a man in Azamgarh (UP), who was declared dead on paper when he was alive and kicking. He had to fight for 18 years to prove that he is not dead. It’s a black comedy and will be produced by Abhishek Chaubey along with my company and Honey Trehan’s MacGuffin Pictures,” he told SpotboyE.com.
Turns out, Kaushik had been toying with the idea of the biopic for many years. He said, “I refrained from directing it before because biopics weren’t as popular then.”
