Here’s National Commission For Women’s Reply To Rhea Pillai’s Complaint About Leander’s Lawyers Bullying Her
Here’s the latest on Rhea Pillai-Leander Paes’ divorce proceedings that are getting murky by the day...
We had recently told you that Rhea Pillai had appealed to
the National Commission for Women (NCW). She had requested them to appoint an
observer for the on-going domestic violence proceedings in court.
Rhea had alleged that her estranged husband Leander Paes’
lawyers were passing snide remarks against her during the proceedings. She
wanted a representative from NCW to witness it.

The latest on this front is that the NCW has responded to
Rhea’s complaint. NCW Chief Rekha Sharma has written to the Registrar General,
Bombay High Court regarding the complaint.
“Since the matter is subjudice before the court,
intervention by the NCW is not warranted at this stage. However, we express
concern over the usage of such derogatory remarks made towards women during
court proceedings,” said the NCW Chief.
Rekha Sharma has further written to the Registrar General seeking intervention for taking appropriate measures to be issued to the courts (under its jurisdiction) to ensure the dignity of women in such sensitive court proceedings.
Recently, we had told you that Leander had been trying
every trick in the book for getting away from being implicated under the
Domestic Violence Case. However, on October 3, the Court approved of Rhea's
application that Leander needs to produce his passport issued in 2008 (valid from
Feb '08 to Feb '18) which bears her name as his wife.

Leander had claimed that he had lost his passport in the
US in March 2014 and got an interim one issued in the US. That document did not
carry Rhea's name.
