Veteran Bollywood actress and Bharatiya Janata Party MP Hema Malini has a lot of admirers in the country. She has made a name for herself in the industry with her versatile performances. However, she also often faces the wrath of netizens for her comments on the happening in the country and her ‘entitled’ behaviour. On Wednesday, she was spotted at an event in Mumbai. As several videos and photos from the event surfaced on the internet, one shared by paparazzo Viral Bhayani caught everyone’s attention.

In the video, posted on Instagram, Malini is spotted with Anup Jalota and others at the event. She gets ready to click photos with a few people. As a woman tries to pose with the veteran actress and puts her hand on her shoulder, she looks visibly irked. She moves and removes her hand from her shoulder while saying, “Haath nahi...” and urges her to move aside. This gesture has not gone down well with the netizens as they have slammed her. 

One wrote, “Election k time janta should remember this.” Another wrote, “Kitna attitude hai isme....pata nai kya samajhti hai apne ap ko.” Other one said, “Jaya Bachan n Hema Malini r the most grumpy female celebrities.” One commented, “But election k time par inke ghar bheekh kyu mangte ho.” Another commented, “Abhi vote magne ki bari ayegi to hath sey kha bhi legi fir to.”


For those who don’t remember, Hema Malini had recently faced the wrath of netizens for her tone-deaf and insensitive reaction toward Vinesh Phogat's disqualification from Paris Olympics 2024. She was quoted saying, “It is very surprising and bada ajeeb sa bhi lagta hain ki 100 gm ki wajah se woh disqualify ho gayi. Kitna mehatwa hain apna weight aur wazan ko theek se rakhna! Hum sab ko isse ek achha seekh milna chahiye sab kalakaro ko, mahilayon ko sabko… ki 100 gm also matters a lot! We feel very sad for her. I wish she loses that 100 grams quickly lekin milega nahi abhi.”

As per multiple media reports, Phogat was up all night trying to lose the extra kilos through several means. A statement released by the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) read, “It is with regret that the Indian contingent shares news of the disqualification of Vinesh Phogat from the Women’s Wrestling 50kg class. Despite the best efforts by the team through the night, she weighed in a few grams over 50kg this morning. No further comments will be made by the contingent at this time.”
