Hearing Of Rhea Chakraborty And Showik Chakraborty's Bail Pleas Adjourned Till Sep 29: Rhea Continues To Stay In Byculla Jail

After the Magistrate Court and Sessions Court rejected the bail pleas of Rhea Chakraborty and brother Showik Chakraborty, the sibling duo moved to Bombay High Court to seek release. It was on September 8 that Rhea Chakraborty was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau in Sushant Singh Rajput's death case. Her brother was arrested a few days prior. They were then sent to judicial-custody. Rhea's judicial custody was extended till October 6, and the Bombay High Court heard their bail pleas today. However, the hearing has been adjourned and will next happen on September 29.

The Bombay High Court has adjourned the hearing for September 29 and until then, Rhea is expected to be lodged in Byculla Jail. Her brother Showik has been lodged in Taloja jail. Apart from them, late Sushant Singh Rajput's staff members like Samuel Miranda, Deepesh Sawant and others were also arrested.

It is reported that Rhea Chakraborty submitted a 47-page long bail application in which she has supposedly stated that she was used by Sushant Singh Rajput to procure drugs for his personal consumption. "(SSR) used her (Rhea), her brother Showik (Chakraborty) and members of his household staff to facilitate his own drug habit while ensuring that he did not leave a paper trail of his own in the form of any electronic evidence whatsoever," read the application as reported by India Today.
