Freddy Daruwala On Working With Stars Like Akshay Kumar, John Abraham, Salman Khan: 'It Has Its Merits And Demerits Too'- EXCLUSIVE
Freddy Daruwala, who debuted opposite Akshay Kumar in Holiday and went on to work with John Abraham in Force 2 and Salman Khan in Race 3, believes that working with big names has its own merits and demerits
Freddy Daruwala, known for his villainous stint in Akshay Kumar-starrer Holiday, started his journey seven years ago with the film. A model before that, Freddy went on to work with some big names in the industry like John Abraham in Force 2 and Salman Khan in Race 3. However, the actor believes that although working with big actors does have its perks, it’s not all hunky-dory.
“It has its merits and demerits. Sometimes when I do a film, the first question people ask me is with whom I am doing the film, as their mindset is that I do films only with big stars. It’s sad to see that people can’t see me pulling off a film on my own. It also makes it difficult for makers to see you as a leading face for their films,” he asserts, but points out that there are some big advantages too, associated with working with established actors. “Working with big stars has its perks too as they bring in more audiences. Even today, people still watch Holiday and they remember me in it. So, it is a see-saw kind of a situation,” he says.
Last seen in Race 3, three years ago, Freddy is now gearing up for his first solo lead role with The Incomplete Man. He will be seen opposite Randeep Hooda and Urvashi Rautela in Inspector Avinash and has multiple projects in other languages in pipeline as well.
