For Akshay Kumar, The Show Must, And Will, Go On
His mother’s ill health and demise brought Akshay Kumar back to India. But the shooting of Ranjit Tiwari’s post-Bell Bottom spy thriller Cinderella in London won’t stop. Sources close to Akshay say he intends to return to the interrupted shooting within the next few days.

“You know him na,” a mutual friend tells me. “He won’t allow any project to suffer on his account, no matter how grave the provocation. He will fly back the soonest and shoot normally,” says the friend about Akshay whose 54th birthday celebrations were cancelled after the death in the family.

Not only Akshay, his wife Twinkle was very close to her mother-in-law, and his children Aarav and Nitara adored their 'dadi'.

I met Akshay’s mother only once when I was invited for lunch by Akshay and Twinkle. Midway through the meal, Akshay’s mother arrived, looking preoccupied about her next appointment.

Akshay smiled indulgently and said, “Maa does her own thing. She has her friends, her kitty parties, social get-together, charity events… She is busier than I am.”

Akshay also shared that ever since his father passed away, he had become doubly protective towards his mother.

“Every wish of hers is my command,” Akshay confessed affectionately. She would want her actor-son to get back to work, and that’s what Akshay is doing.

Vindu Dara Singh, a close friend of Akshay's, is in Mussourrie. “I am here for 40 days shooting for a film called Forensic with Vikrant Massey and Radhika Apte. I couldn’t attend my friend Sidharth Shukla’s cremation, nor was I there to see Akshay’s mother off. I know how close Akshay was to his mother. After his father’s death Akshay looked after his mother and sister like the head of the family. His mother meant the world to him.”
