Filmmaker Goldie Behl On Sonali Bendre’s Cancer Diagnosis, ‘After Going To New York, It Was A Life Altering Situation’
In 2018, Sonali Bendre shocked one and all with the sudden announcement of her suffering from Cancer. The actress soon flew to New York for the medical treatment and she battled through the deadly C with utmost bravery and courage. Time and again the actress made sure to create the awareness and talk about what she’s been through during the medical treatment journey.  After spending a few months, Sonali returned to the Bay with husband Goldie Behl and son, Ranveer.

Sonali Bendre was accompanied by her husband and filmmaker Goldie Behl, throughout the journey. Following this, he had put his upcoming projects on hold to be by his wife’s side. However, Goldie now says, since the actress is doing fine, he wants to now focus on telling stories on digital. In his interview, he said going to New York for Sonali’s treatment for six months was life-altering for the family.”

Speaking to PTI, Goldie Behl said, “The film slate has not been affected by Covid-19, I have put it on hold for the moment. I am focusing more of my energies, ever since 2018, after I went to New York with Sonali, it was a life altering situation for all of us. I have decided to focus more on the digital platform. So the film slate is on pause right now, but because of my own decision and not Covid-19.”

A few days back, Sonali Bendre had a smart chit-chat with SpotboyE digitally. The actress had spoken to us about putting out her bald picture with a smile on her face. She told us, “the moment you put it out, the whole world is seeing it. And let everyone smile. Frankly,  how long are you going to hide? Just get on with life, man. I felt I was getting distracted trying to hide my falling hair, so just putting it out there fully bald was more to help myself than anything else. It was quite liberating, actually.” (ALSO READ: Sonali Bendre Gets Emotional As She Talks About Returning To India Post Her Cancer Treatment – Watch Video)

Her husband and filmmaker Goldie used tell the actress why was she being shy about it. “He used to say I need to own it and that I look fabulous without my hair as well. Today, he tells me that ‘you should not grow your hair back, the short hair suits you very much’. My husband has been an amazing support,’ she had added.
