Fashion Designer Rohit Bal CRITICAL And Is Admitted To ICU In Gurugram's Medanta Hospital-REPORTS
Fashion designer Rohit Bal was reportedly admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of Gurugram’s Medanta Hospital on Monday. He has been diagnosed with a pre-existing heart condition and he underwent an emergency angioplasty in 2010 after he suffered a heart attack.

Previously, Bal was admitted to the same hospital in November last year where he was visited by long-time friend Arjun Rampal. The fashion designer has also been suffering from pancreatitis and was admitted to a hospital for treatment earlier this year.

A source close to the fashion designer said, "Bal was rushed to the hospital by model Suraj Dhalia three days ago. His heart was sinking and he was unconscious. His pacemaker gave seven shocks. He was initially taken to Moolchand and when his condition deteriorated, he was rushed to Medanta.”

The 62-year-old has been in and out of the hospital for serious health complications in the last few months. Another close friend told Hindustan Times, "Gudda is a fighter but his illness has taken a serious toll on him. He became extremely weak over the last few months. We are praying for him."

Rohit Bal has been reportedly in and out of rehab and hospitals for alcohol abuse and consequent health problems.

Rohit Bal had undergone an emergency angioplasty when he suffered a heart attack in February 2010.

Bal, who is known for his flamboyant designs and Bollywood clientele, hails from Kashmir and is one of India’s best-known fashion designers. Being a graduate of Stephen’s college, he learnt fashion design at NIFT, Delhi and international celebrities like Pamela Anderson, Uma Thurman, Cindy Crawford and Naomi Campbell have worn his designs.
