Farhan Plans Biopic On First Female Amputee To Scale Mt Everest

Director-actor Farhan Akhtar will bring the story of Arunima Sinha on the big screen.

Arunima was a UP-based national level volleyball player, who was pushed from a running train by thieves in 2011. As a result, one of her legs had to be amputated below the knee.

It was during her treatment that she resolved to climb Mount Everest. On 21 May, 2013, Arunima became the first female amputee to scale the peak.

Farhan was inspired after reading her book, Born Again On The Mountain. He met her recently and expressed his desire to make a film on her life. He will be directing it himself. Arunima has accepted the offer.
