Farhan Akhtar DELETES Tweet After Getting Mercilessly Trolled For Mistakenly Cheering For Indian Women’s Hockey Team Instead Of Men In Blue
Indian Men’s Hockey Team has made the entire nation proud by creating history as it claimed an Olympic medal after 41 years, defeating a plucky Germany 5-4 to win the bronze in an edge-of-the-seat play-off match at the Tokyo Olympics 2020. The entire Bollywood joined in cheering for the team and congratulated the Men’s Hockey Team on social media. However, in haste, Farhan Akhtar mistakenly congratulated the women’s hockey team for bringing home the medal. However, he quickly deleted the tweet.

In the now-deleted tweet, he wrote, “Go girls!! So proud of #TeamIndia for showing exemplary fighting spirit and bringing in our 4th medal. Super stuff.” Although Farhan soon realized his mistake and instantly deleted the tweet. But, nothing can be missed by the eagle-eyed netizens, who trolled the Toofan actor for making a big blunder.

One Twitter user commented, “Arre Sirji, itne bhi feminist mat bano ki ladko ko ladki hi bana do... On a serious note, why celebrities are in so much hurry to tweet even before verifying? @coolfunnytshirt.” Another user mocked and compared him to Alia Bhatt, for having poor knowledge and wrote, “This mardon ka alia bhatt be like "sab Go Girls bol rahe to kuch to hoga.. sach ho sakta hai.”

“These guys play athletes in their Biopics,” reads another tweet.

Take a look at the tweets below:

Later, Farhan Akhtar published another tweet saying, “So proud of #teamIndia for showing exemplary fighting spirit and bringing in our 4th medal.. super stuff. #Tokyo2020  #Hockey.”

Notably, Akhtar has played the role of athletes in his movies, a boxer in Toofan and legendary athlete Milkha Singh in his biopic Bhag Milkha Bhag.
