FAIR PLAY: Leading Multiplex PVR Divides Shows Equally Between Raees & Kaabil
The BIG box-office war between Raees and Kaabil now stands on an equal ground, as Rakesh Roshan’s Kaabil and Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees have obtained an equal number of theatres and shows across the country.

In a hush-hush meeting, leading multiplex PVR has finally taken the decision to give 50-50 shows to both the films. The officials felt that both the films have mass appeal and both stars top actors (Shah Rukh Khan & Hrithik Roshan), plus it’s a long weekend, so there is enough room for both the films.

A few days back, exhibitors and producers had met to decide on the no. of shows to be divided between the two films. However, the meeting ended on an inconclusive note. No amount of persuasion, aggression and cajoling could help to precipitate a solution at that time.

But as both the films are set to release tomorrow ( Jan 25), the multiplex had to take a decision. And so they did. In order to not take sides, PVR has decided to give fair chance to both the films. The bookings are open to both the films now.

PVR, being the multiplex leader, plays a large role in deciding the behaviour of other multiplexes. Smaller chains tend to take the same path as decided by PVR. So, it’s a big relief for both the filmmakers (Raees and Kaabil) that they have equal amounts of shows and screens to fight out this battle!

Raees produced by Shah Rukh Khan, Ritesh Sidhwani & Farhan Akhtar and directed by Rahul Dholakia has Mahira Khan as the leading lady, while Kaabil produced by Rakesh Roshan and directed by Sanjay Gupta has Yami Gautam as Hrithik’s counterpart.

So, let’s see who wins it eventually! Both the films hit theatres tomorrow, January 25.
