EXCLUSIVE! Brahmastra Star Makrand Soni Gets Candid About Working With Ranbir Kapoor-Alia Bhatt ; Reveals Which Bollywood Actors Inspire Him!

Can you tell us what influenced you to pursue a career as an actor?

I started acting at the age of 3 by chance. Initially, my parents supported me with it because it helped me open up and become confident about myself. But as I grew up, I just fell in love with it. It helps me express myself and helps me see the world from the shoes of the character I am playing and get a new perspective.

What do you feel is more important for an actor, talent or training?

You of course need to have the talent. But more than training, I think experience is more important, not just in the field but in life.

Tell us something about your role in Bramastra? What steps did you take to fully understand the importance of your character to the story?

I am one of the primary characters in the film. And I am that guy who knows everything about everything. I read through the script a few times, sat down with the director and the team and tried to understand what their vision was and who he is, and why he is the way he is.

How was it working under Ayan Mukherji?

Working under Ayan is one of the most amazing experiences. I think he's one of the sweetest directors I've worked with. One of the reasons I love him is because he knows how to make absolutely anyone look good, he just brings so much out of the actors he's working with.

Tell us about your bond with Alia, Ranbir and Amitabh Bachchan?

Ranbir is one of the most down-to-earth, sweet and chilled out person. I was star-struck when I met him first but he's so easy to get along with. You don't feel like “oh I'm talking to some big star” I mean you do because he is one, but then he's very friendly and super sweet!

How excited are you for the release?

I'm excited! I've never been a part of something this big! And it's unreal! And I'm so grateful that I got the opportunity to be a part of something so magical, something so special.

You have worked along side few of the biggest names of bollywood since an early age, who has inspired you the most?

Shah Rukh Khan and Ranbir Kapoor are two actors I look up to and get inspired by. And hopefully one day I'll manage to be half as good as they are.

Describe your most challenging role till date?

Most of my work was as a child actor. I have not explored how much I can do and push as an actor. Brahmastra is a new beginning for me, so I've not stepped out of my comfort zone yet. But I hope to and look forward to taking on something that will truly challenge me and push me to my limits.

 What's next for you?

Next major project for me is to roll my music out. I write and sing. And I'm fortunate to have Hriday Gattani in my corner who works with A R Rahman. So Hriday and I have co- written a few singles that he's producing and I'm singing. So second half of September I'll be releasing my music as an independent artist.
