Esha Gupta On Facing Casting Couch TWICE, Recalls The SCARY Instances She Had To Go Through; Actress Says, ‘Called My Makeup Artist To Sleep In My Room’
Numerous Bollywood actresses have encountered the issue of casting couch and one of them is Esha Gupta. In a candid interview, she courageously shared her personal experience, shedding light on a disturbing incident where a filmmaker propositioned her for sexual favours in exchange for professional opportunities. Shockingly, she disclosed that she has faced the casting couch not just once but twice, emphasising, "Two individuals subjected me to this ordeal." She further shares how a filmmaker made such an offer during the shooting of a film but she refused it. Speaking about the incident, Esha said, "The film was half completed. When I refused, the co-producer told the maker that he did not want to see me in the film. What am I doing on set? After this, some makers even refused to cast me in films. I had heard that these people used to say about me that if I won't do anything then what is the point of taking me in the film?" While narrating another story in the same interview, Esha revealed how she was in the outdoor shoot of a film when another casting couch instance happened. She further spoke, "There were two people who laid the trap of casting couch. I had understood but I still did the film because it was a small move from their side. He thought that I would fall into his trap during the outdoor shoot. I was also smart, I said that I would not go to sleep alone. I called my makeup artist to sleep in my room."


The actress expressed her anger and said how such people cannot do these things with star kids because their parents will kill them. She was simply irked by the act of these predators and called them out saying, "they think that if we need work then we can get anything done."
