This judicial inquiry was prompted by a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by the Jabalpur Sikh Sangat, a Sikh organization that contends that the film presents a negative portrayal of the Sikh community. The group’s petition, which was scheduled for consideration on the same day, seeks to prevent the film from being released, arguing that it does not serve the public interest.
