Do You Want To Win Rs 1 Lakh? Blacken Madhur Bhandarkar’s Face!
It’s one controversy after another for Madhur Bhandarkar’s upcoming film, Indu Sarkar based on the Emergency imposed by Indira Gandhi in 1975.  The period drama stars Kriti Kulhari, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Tota Roy Chowdhury and Anupam Kher among others.

Weeks ago, Congress MP Jyotiraditya Scindia (late Madhavrao Scindia's son) had expressed strong reservations against the film, saying that it is a propaganda film for the ruling party, BJP .
This morning, reports of Congress Chief Sanjay Nirupam demanding a viewing of Indu Sarkar before it is certified came forth.

Now, Youth Congress leader, Haseeb Ahmad has taken to Twitter to share a post rather appalling. He tweeted, “Blacken Indu Sarkar director Madhur Bhandrakar’s face and win Rs 1 lakh (sic).”

Yes, you read that right.

Along with the caption is attached a poster (in Hindi) which accuses the film of conspiring against the Nehru-Gandhi family.

Meanwhile, at the trailer launch of Indu Sarkar where Madhur was accompanied by the entire team, he revealed that he made Indu Sarkar as it was important to tell about the emergency to today’s generation. “I always wanted to make a period film and I am a big fan of 1970s, so when my writer (Anil) and I were brainstorming, suddenly the idea of the Emergency came up. So we thought of making a movie against the backdrop of Emergency with a touch of human drama. The events in the film are inspired by true incidents and I thought it’s important to tell this story especially to today’s generation as they are not aware about the 21 months of Emergency from 1975 to 1977,” he said.

We think controversies are far from over for Indu Sarkar. Let’s see what comes in Madhur Bhandarkar’s way next.
