Dilip Kumar Passes Away: Amitabh Bachchan Says ‘An Institution Of Indian Cinema Has Gone, An Epic Era Has Drawn Curtains’
Veteran actor Dilip Kumar breathed his last today, aged 98. Amitabh Bachchan took to his Twitter to express his shock.
Veteran actor Dilip Kumar died at a Mumbai hospital on Wednesday at the age of 98, after a prolonged illness. His tragic death has left the entire film industry heartbroken. Right from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to megastar Amitabh Bachchan, celebrities have taken to social media to offer their condolences. Big B is deeply saddened and disturbed over Dilip’s sad demise. The actor said whenever the history of Indian Cinema is written, it shall always be "before Dilip Kumar, and after Dilip Kumar."
Amitabh Bachchan tweeted, “T 3958 - An institution has gone .. whenever the history of Indian Cinema will be written, it shall always be 'before Dilip Kumar, and after Dilip Kumar' .. My duas for peace of his soul and the strength to the family to bear this loss .. Deeply saddened.”
He added, “An epic era has drawn curtains... Never to happen again..”

Paying his respects, Akshay Kumar shared a picture of Dilip Kumar and tweeted, "To the world many others may be heroes. To us actors, he was The Hero. #DilipKumar Sir has taken an entire era of Indian cinema away with him. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. Om Shanti.”
