Dilip Kumar Discharged From Lilavati Hospital, Thespian Back Home
After being admitted to the hospital for recurrent pneumonia on Sunday, veteran legend Dilip Kumar was discharged a short while back
Legendary Thespian Dilip Kumar is back home to his near and dear ones after being discharged from Lilavati Hospital. Dilip Kumar was rushed to Lilavati on Sunday night because of recurrent pneumonia. On Oct 10, a tweet from the 95-year-old legend’s account informed his fans, that he was responding well to treatment. The tweet read, “Lord be praised. Dilip Saab is responding to treatment and doing much better. If all goes well, as per doctors, he may be discharged from the hospital tomorrow (Thursday afternoon). Insha’Allah.”
The legend is indeed better and has been discharged from the hospital, this afternoon. He has been advised complete rest and isolation for few days to prevent infections. A tweet posted from his account a short while back read, “Allah ka shukr hai Dilip Saab Hospital se discharge ho gaye Aur Abhi ghar pohoch gaye hai. Doctors have advised complete rest isolation for few days to prevent infection. Thank You all for your prayers.”
Last week, amidst reports that Dilip Kumar's deteriorating health, Udaya Tara Nayar, compiler of the legend's autobiography, had told IANS, "He is as well as he can be at his age... He is well looked after by his wife Saira Banu."
Dilip Kumar, one of India's most iconic actors, has appeared in some classics like "Kohinoor", "Mughal-e-Azam", "Shakti", "Naya Daur" and "Ram Aur Shyam". His last silver screen appearance was in the 1998 film "Qila".
