Did you know that the Sheena Bohra murder case film Dark Chocolate released on Friday?

No interviews of the leading ladies Mahima Chaudhary and Riya Sen, no premiere in Mumbai (in fact, it was cancelled at the last minute sources say), no hoardings, no reviews--- how would one in Mumbai (the hub of movies) know that the Sheena Bohra murder case bilingual flick (Hindi, English) Dark Chocolate has hit theatres? Yes, Dark Chocolate released on September 2 but not without giving heartburn to its director Agnidev.

Yes, Dark Chocolate released on September 2 but not without giving heartburn to its director Agnidev.

The film is running in Mumbai in barely 15 shows spread across 9 cinemas (some of them being in Ambernath, Ulhasnagar, Bhayander), and unlike Kolkata and few other places in the East where the Bengali version was promoted well, its Hindi counterpart seems to have been given stepmotherly treatment by its producer Pradeep Churiwal.

"Questions related to the film's marketing should be addressed to its producer Pradeep Churiwal and not me," Agnidev told SpotboyE.com when contacted for his take on Churiwal's zero marketing plan in the city to bring his hardwork to the fore.

A source told Spotboye.com, "While Bengali films have always had a subdued release in Mumbai, Dark Chocolate is based on the Sheena Bohra murder case, which has been a subject of national discussion. Besides, it has its Hindi version too. Surely, the film need some inventory and strategy before release."

While Mahima seems to have bravely taken the producer's call in her stride, Riya Sen strongly feels that the stage could have been set better.

P.S: We will bring you an interview with Riya Sen, today. Keep watching this space.
