‘Papa Kehte Hai' fame former actress Mayuri Kango is reportedly now working with Google India
Former actress Mayuri Kango shot to instant fame and became a popular household name with her brilliant stint in the 1996 film ‘Papa Kehte Hai’ which also starred Anupam Kher and Jugal Hansraj. The actress also appeared in several other films like 'Betaabi', 'Hogi Pyaar Ki Jeet', 'Badal' and others. But did you know that Mayuri left Bollywood to pursue her dream job with Google? Yes, you read that right! In 2009 she bid adieu to the showbiz industry and is now working as Google India industry head.
As per reports, Mayuri worked as Managing Director for Performics- a leading digital media agency before landing a job in Google India. The actress did her schooling at Saint Francis De Sales, Aurangabad, and got a break during her visit to her mother in Mumbai. Though she made her debut with the film 'Naseem', it was after Mahesh Bhatt’s movie Papa Kehte Hai that she tasted success. However, it is being said that Mayuri Kango got married to NRI businessman Aditya Dhillon in 2003 and later she quit acting. After marriage, Kango shifted to New York with her husband and did MBA in marketing and finance.
In an interview with IANS, the former actress stated that she is excited and thrilled to be part of Google and would be "applying her experience of over a decade in the agency realm to grow these partnerships further."
Meanwhile, Mayuri was last seen on the big screen in a small role in Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor’s film ‘Kurbaan’. The Rensil D'Silva directorial was released in 2009.
